blueView is an occasional series profiling the CobaltNiche team or topical issues affecting design or manufacturing in Australia and globally. Currently, we are getting a unique insight into each of our team by looking at the cars in thier lives.
After driving a 1991 Nissan Pulsar for just over five years, CobaltNiche's Industrial Designer Shannon Smith decided to leave behind the power and prestige that 'The Reebok' gave him in exchange for what is now affectionately known as 'The Datto'.
In typical fashion, he spent nearly six months researching makes and models, travelling all over the state from to eventually find what we was after: a 1975 silver Datsun 260Z that is loud, hard to start, and comes complete with genuine vinyl seats and pinstriping - a real 70s icon (At least he thinks so!)
