JD Macdonald Win a Designer

04 July 2006

Mr Steve Salmon, JD Macdonald’s Engineering Manager was recently presented with his certificate to 3-days of design services from CobaltNiche. Steve’s entry was drawn by The Honourable André Haermeyer, Minister for Manufacturing and Export during CobaltNiche’s new building launch. According to Warwick Brown, CobaltNiche’s Design Director “the competition was held as a way of acknowledging and thanking all our clients, who have supported us during these first 10 years of operations”.

Steve is planning to use the prize to have CobaltNiche look at the design of the company’s rubbish collection and compaction trucks.

CobaltNiche have worked with JD Macdonald over a number of years, and designed 3 hand-dryers platforms for the company:

- Pronto, a unique combination dryer featuring paper towels and hot air for superfast drying

- Sirocco series Autobeam and Touchdry, JD Macdonald’s high-volume and high-performance dryers. These dryers won an Australian Design Mark.

- i-vision, a high-technology dryer featuring a colour-LCD monitor screening multimedia videos to entertain users whilst they dry their hands
