Tour de Force

18 October 2006

The CobaltNiche team recently participated in Australia’s largest cycling event; the Melbourne "Around the Bay" ride which attracted over 14,000 participants. Designer, Lorrin Windahl organised (or was that cajoled?) the CobaltNiche team to enter the 42km ride. Meanwhile, Design Director Warwick Brown completed the full and gruelling 210km around Port Phillip Bay ride in a PB of 6hrs 40min, that’s an average of over 32km/h.

Although not quite in the ‘Tour de France’ league, our crew made a splash in their new CobaltNiche cycling jerseys.

The "Around the Bay" ride is building on the popularty of cycling at CobaltNiche. Up to five of our staff are now regularly riding to work, and parking their bikes in a dedicated bike-parking area located in our ‘designspace’ building. Apart from being fun, cycling is a great way of maintaining a balance between work, social activities and keeping fit especially as most of our working days are fairly sedentary.
